Description
A delicious and easy dessert featuring torn croissants soaked in a creamy custard and baked until golden brown.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1/3 cup (67g) sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread torn croissant pieces inside. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the croissants.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture over the croissants, pressing down gently to ensure they soak up the liquid.
- Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to allow the croissants to fully absorb the custard. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set with a slight jiggle.
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar for a beautiful finish.
Notes
- This dish is perfect for a brunch or dessert.
- Feel free to substitute the chocolate chips with other mix-ins like nuts or fruit.
