Description

A delicious and easy dessert featuring torn croissants soaked in a creamy custard and baked until golden brown.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large croissants, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup (67g) sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread torn croissant pieces inside. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the croissants.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour the custard mixture over the croissants, pressing down gently to ensure they soak up the liquid.
  4. Let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes to allow the croissants to fully absorb the custard. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set with a slight jiggle.
  6. Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar for a beautiful finish.

Notes

  • This dish is perfect for a brunch or dessert.
