Description

A delicious crispy tofu recipe coated in a sweet and savory honey soy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 14 oz extra-firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Drain and press the tofu for at least 15 minutes. Cut into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Toss tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry tofu until golden and crispy on all sides.
  4. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Toss crispy tofu in the sauce until well coated.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Pressing the tofu helps remove excess moisture for a better texture.
  • Adjust the amount of honey for desired sweetness.
