Description
Delicious chocolate chip cookies with a unique twist using white miso for added depth of flavor.
Ingredients

- 113g unsalted butter (softened)
- 75g dark brown sugar
- 50g granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp white miso paste
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 130g all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 115g dark chocolate chunks
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Beat the butter, miso, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda.
- Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks evenly.
- Scoop large dough balls and chill for 30 minutes.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced apart. Bake at 375°F (190°C).
- At minute 8, bang the pan against the oven rack. Repeat every 2 minutes until done.
- Bake 12–14 minutes total. Remove and sprinkle sesame seeds.
- Cool on tray before transferring.
Notes
- These cookies have a unique flavor with the addition of miso.
- Chilling the dough helps to enhance the texture of the cookies.
- Adjust baking time for desired chewiness.
