Description

Delicious and colorful Easter-themed Rice Krispies treats shaped like eggs, perfect for celebrating the holiday!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoons Butter (Use salted butter for extra flavor.)
  • 2 cups Mini Marshmallows (Opt for a fresh, unopened bag for best results.)
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal (Provides the signature crunch and structure.)
  • Food Coloring (Gel food coloring in vivid colors like blue, pink, and green works best.)
  • 12 cups White Candy Melts (A sweet alternative to chocolate for coating.)
  • Easter Sprinkles (Adds a festive touch to the finished eggs.)

Instructions

  1. Melt 1 ½ tablespoons of butter in a medium pot over low to medium heat. Add 2 ½ cups of mini marshmallows and stir continuously for 3-5 minutes until smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring gradually until desired color is achieved.
  3. Fold in 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Mix gently for about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Scoop ¼ cup of the mixture and mold into egg shapes. Place on parchment paper and repeat.
  5. Allow the eggs to cool for at least 30 minutes until they firm up.
  6. Melt 1-2 cups of white candy melts according to package instructions. Stir until smooth.
  7. Dip each shaped egg halfway into the melted candy melts, allowing excess to drip off. Sprinkle with Easter sprinkles.
  8. Place decorated eggs back on parchment paper and cool for 15-20 minutes until coating sets.
